Co-host of the podcast Veterans of Culture Wars, Zach is an amateur musician and former worship leader who spent 9 years at disgraced pastor Mark Driscoll's Mars Hill Church in Seattle, before leaving in 2009 and eventually co-founding the website We Love Mars Hill, which shared stories from former members about their often-traumatic experiences at Mars Hill, as a way of helping members recognize their stories. Later, Zach released Driscoll's infamous "William Wallace II" forum posts, an act that Christianity Today called the straw that broke the camel's back, leading to Driscoll's resignation and Mars Hill's collapse shortly after. No longer a Christian, Zach now co-hosts Veterans of Culture Wars, a podcast about the beliefs, history, and personal stories from evangelical Christianity. Co-host Dave Lester is still an evangelical, but Zach doesn't hold it against him too much.
